The real story behind why Joyfully Rooted exists.

If you have been following along lately, you might have noticed that something around here has changed. A new name. A new logo. A second service you might not have expected from a photographer.

I have been wanting to sit down and tell you the real story behind all of it -- where Joyfully Rooted came from, why it exists, and what it means to me. So grab something warm, settle in, and let me take you bake to where it all started.

It started with my momma.

My love for photography did not start three years ago when I launched my business. It started long before that -- with a lesson my momma gave me that I have never forgotten.

Those words shaped the way I see the world. They are the reason I picked up a camera. They are the reason I show up for people on their most important days and pour everything I have into capturing something real — something they will hold onto forever.

Every time I show up to a session, I carry that lesson with me. Photography is not just a job for me. It is a calling. It is an act of love. And It is my way of honoring the woman who first taught me to pay attention to the moments that matter.

Three years of capturing joyful moments.

I launched my photography business three years ago under the name Joyful Moments Photography. From the very beginning, the heart of it was the same — show up for the people, capture something real, and give them something they will treasure for the rest of their lives.

Portraits. Families. Maternity. Seniors. Weddings. Engagements. Every session is different. Every family is different. Every story is different. And I have loved every single one of them.

But somewhere along the way, something else started growing alongside the photography — something I did not plan for, did not expect, and honestly could not have predicted.

Nobody saw the nails coming.

I have always loved doing my own nails. It is one of those things that brings me genuine joy — the design process, the creativity, the feeling of finishing a set and thinking yes, that is exactly right.

But the real turning point came when people kept stopping me. At sessions. At events. Running errands. Someone would grab my hand and ask -- where did you get those done?

And every single time, I had to tell them: I did them myself.

I would watch the same look of surprise cross their face. And every time it happened, a little idea started to take root. What if I could create that for other people? Not in the traditional way — I could not do the same process on someone else. But I could create something just as beautiful. Something custom. Something made specifically for them.

That is how custom handmade press on nails became part of Joyfully Rooted. Handcrafted. Custom fit to your nails. Designed from scratch just for you.

Why Joyfully Rooted?

When it came time to rebrand and bring both of these things under one name, I kept coming back to one question: what is the thread that runs through all of it?

The photography. The nails. The way I show up for people. The reason I do any of this at all.

And the answer was always the same: faith.

I have learned that things work when they are rooted in faith. Not when they are forced. Not when they are rushed. But when you trust the process and let God grow something from even the smallest seed.

"If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move,' and it will move." — Matthew 17:20

That verse became the heartbeat of this entire brand. A mustard seed is one of the tiniest seeds you can find — and yet it grows into something extraordinary. That is exactly what Joyfully Rooted is. A small seed of faith that grew into something I am so proud of.

Joyfully Rooted is photography that captures your most joyful moments. It is handmade nails that let you carry a little beauty with you every day. It is two passions under one name, rooted in the same faith that has carried me every step of the way.
